Heartsaver CPR & AED

The Heartsaver CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Who should take this course?

NOTE: Michigan requires ALL age group (Adult, Child, and Infant) CPR AED to be done if your position is child care.

1) If you are child care, do the Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Online. You will have to manually chose to do the Adult CPR modules as AHA makes it optional. However, IT IS NOT optional in Michigan for child care staff to do Adult CPR. Please use the below link ending with 1516 for the Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED online.

2) If you are and adult focused worker, we still recommend the Heartsaver Pediatric CPR First Aid as it is superior training, for the same money. You will have to chose to do the Adult CPR module in this scenario.

If you do not want that added information, you can do the plain Heartsaver (Adult) CPR AED First Aid. We will cover the child and infant CPR in class, so please do those “optional” CPR modules also.

Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult
Perform high-quality CPR for a child*
Demonstrate how to use an AED on a child*
Perform high-quality CPR for an infant*
Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child
Demonstrate how to help a choking infant*
