Heartsaver CPR & AED

The Heartsaver CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Who should take this course?

1) Center-Based Day Cares need this version: Please do all age groups Adult, Child, & Infant.

Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Online. We recommend Home-Based Day Cares do this as well even though the state says you can just do the general Heartsaver one below. Please do the adult CPR module.

2) This is an Adult focused CPR First Aid training ending in 1525. This is for those working with primarily adults in a non-medial work environment. Please do the child and infant CPR modules. *The state allows Home-Based Day Cares to do this adult focused training, but, we still recommend  doing the Center-Based Day Cares ending with 1516 above, because it focuses on your age groups.

Adult Heartsaver CPR FA Total. This meets OSHA requirements.

  • Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival
  • Recognize when someone needs CPR
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an adult
  • Describe how to perform CPR with help from others
  • Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult
  • Perform high-quality CPR for a child*
  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on a child*
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an infant*
  • Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child
  • Demonstrate how to help a choking infant*
